Seegrotte

This boat is one of the remains of the filmset "The Three Musceteers" filmed with Kiefer Sutherland and Charlie Sheen in 1993.

A shrine for St. Barbara, the saint of the gypsum miners of the Seegrotte.

The Seegrotte in the Hinterbruehl,Austria is the biggest underground lake in europe.
In 1912 a blasting operation failed and caused 20 million litres of water to enter the lower level galleries of this gypsym mine.
After the accident it remained closed until the 1930's when some cave explorers entered the mine again.
During WWII the mine was requisitioned by german military forces, where it was used as an underground aircraft factory, building one of the worlds first jetfighters.

In 2004 a boat with tourists toppled and 5 people died during this accident.

Today it is a popular tourist attraction, although after an accident in 2004, during which 5 people drowned, the boat tour got shortened a lot, leaving a big part of the lake unseen.
